For over 46 years, R&J Machine has thrived as a family business. Founded by Rick and Jennifer in 1975 in Peterborough, they initially sold snowmobile accessories and repaired motorcycles. By 1977, they expanded into manufacturing docks, marine railways, and boat lifts.

 

In 1987, the business outgrew its Parkhill Road East location and moved to County Road 18 between Bridgenorth and Lakefield, Ontario. There, the Hicksons decided to focus solely on docks, marine railways, and custom work, discontinuing the snowmobile parts aspect. This specialization helped R&J Machine become well-known in the industry.
